While it's understandable why Amazon has had to change when it will deliver the game, it seems a number of New Horizonspurchasers weren't very happy to learn that the delivery has been pushed back a few days, especially as the major online retailer only notified them a day before release. Seeing as many will get the chance to jump into the exciting new Nintendo title tomorrow, it is undeniably a major disappointment for avid fans of the franchise, who must now wait an additional four days to kickstart their desert island experience.
@nintendolife just a heads up, looks like amazon is delaying Animal Crossing shipments. On a positive note, my FF7R copy is back on track for a release date delivery. pic.twitter.com/cCo4jT5a0c

— Mike Choi (@mechachoi) March 19, 2020This isn't the first time Amazon has managed to frustrate eager fans looking forward to jumping into a brand new game. The company recently also delayed the shipment of a number of Final Fantasy 7 pre-orders, with the company clearly having to make some sacrifices due to the ongoing nature of the pandemic. Much like Animal Crossing, the delay has angered a number of Final Fantasy 7 fans who were keen to get their hands on the long-awaited remake as soon as possible.
Luckily, when fans of Animal Crossing who ordered the game off Amazon finally get their hands on the title, it will seemingly be worth the wait. Critics have unanimously praised Nintendo's newest foray into the Animal Crossing world, with many citing its incredible new customization tools, visuals, and villagers as core reasons why New Horizons might be the best entry yet. While the wait might be frustrating, at least Amazon customers can rest assured that the game will be worth it.
Animal Crossing will be available March 20 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
