The Powerglide transmission has found its way into many different applications other than GM vehicles. With the availability of various aftermarket bellhousings , it can now be mated to a myriad of different engines, and upgraded internals to allow the Glide to live behind almost unthinkable amounts of horsepower.

TCI Competition Transmissions are designed to fulfill the needs of a race-only vehicle. In drag racing, oval track and tractor pulling, these manual valve body transmissions have proven to be extremely durable. Features include: Performance high gear clutches and bands. Today’s high HP racer needs a durable transmission with a less aggressive starting line ratio. Most racers achieve this by converting the Turbo 400 transmission to a 2-speed unit allowing them the ability to leave off the transbrake in 2nd gear.
