Diskology’s DiskJockey is a hardware-based hard disk copy and diagnostic tool that enables users to copy or clone the contents of one hard drive mechanism onto another device. Additional space left over on the new device might go to waste because of the smaller partition size, however. Utility developer SubRosaSoft.com Ltd. has addressed that problem with DiskJockeyExpander, a new US$25 software utility that can recover the unused space. It’s a subset of VolumeWorks, a utility that provides similar functionality for a wider range of hard drive devices.

SubRosaSoft MacForensicsLab™ is the most powerful and cost-effective forensic tool on the market and the ONLY cross platform application specifically designed to meet the demands of modern law enforcement and digital forensic investigators. In a world of limited resources and increasing demands, you may want more than one tool in your investigative toolbox, but you only need one. Equipped with up to 9GB per minute of data transfer bandwidth, provide the fastest SATA platform for SATA HDD duplication (HDD disc copy). Up to truly tested 90MB per second of writing speed for latest hard drive on TA-2000, the usage would be always an enjoyment for customers to see the quick operation in a snap. It is very likely that the free space on the drive is so fragmented that it is causing the repartition to take so long. It sounds like it would be a good time to backup the data to another disk and repartition the disk during a reformat. The copy the data back again.

CopyCatX enables you to create a copy of a hard drive, whether it’s your boot volume, iPod or other disk. Cross platform device copy lets you clone Mac, Windows, TiVo and Linux drives.

New to this release is the ability to work around media faults on damaged disks — enabling CopyCatX to recover data from scratched CDs and physically damaged hard disk drives.

CopyCatX features better performance — the software now uses sector copying and skips all of the blank space on a drive.

Also new to this release is a backup function that doesn’t require the destination drive to be as big as the original, since the backup now is measured only by used space.
